Summer Club Information

Summer Club LINKS will take place on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Frequent field trips will allow students to explore their community and surrounding areas. Experienced Club staff working with community partners will organize and lead activities.  Sessions will include healthy breakfasts, lunches, and snacks. Engaging, enrichment activities will complement organized, structured activities as well as academic review. Summer club engages incoming 6th-8th grade students

Each week also includes: Walking field trips and Farm to School Cooking Lessons.

Daily activities include Math, Reading, Whole Child Wellness, and themed enrichment activities.
 
Summer Enrollment
Summer Club is free for any incoming 6th–8th graders.
 
Enrollment Information
Enrollment is limited to maintain low student-to-staff ratios. Access the Summer Club Application below.
 
Priority will be given to:
  • Children who attended LINKS or Summer Club programming in 2025.
  • Children attending multiple sessions.
  • Children who are referred by school staff.
  • Children who are incoming 6th graders.
 
Summer Club Program Expectations
Summer Club is excited to provide your child with a fun, enriching, and safe summer experience. Please review the expectations below so we can work together to support a positive experience for all students.
 
Location & Hours
Where: East Side School
When: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
There is NO Club supervision until 8:00 AM – please do not drop your child(ren) off before 8:00 AM.
 
Eligible Grades: Children entering 6th through 8th grade
 
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
Drop-Off: 8:00–8:30 AM
Pick-Up: 4:00–5:00 PM
  • Please inform the Summer Club Coordinator of any schedule changes.
  • Drop-off and pick-up occur at the North Doors (by the playground).
  • Only individuals on the authorized pick-up list may pick up a child.
  • Additions or changes to the authorized list must be submitted before pick-up.
 
Field Trips
  • Transportation is provided by the Livingston School District.
  • Children must follow safety rules, remain in assigned seats, and show appropriate behavior to attend.  Bus Expectations provided by the Transportation Department apply to every student and must be read and followed by all Links Students: Click Here
  • Staff will notify families of all trips in advance (via email and handouts).
  • Emergency forms and first-aid kits will be taken on all trips.
  • Behavior during field trips affects eligibility for future participation.
 
Communication
Please email the Summer Club Coordinator for any of the following:
  • Absences
  • Late drop-off / early pick-up
 
Questions or concerns
  • Expect weekly updates from staff with schedules, field trips, and fun highlights.
 
Student Expectations
Children are expected to:
  • Follow all school rules and staff directions.
  • Show respect to staff, peers, and property.
  • Use kind language.
  • Never be involved in any fighting, stealing, or inappropriate behavior.
 
Behavior Management
If a student repeatedly disrupts programming or refuses redirection:
  • Parents will be contacted and an incident report will be completed.
  • Repeated or serious behavior issues may result in removal from the program.
  • A single severe incident (e.g., fighting, vandalism, leaving campus without permission) may result in immediate removal.
 
Health, Safety, & Emergencies
  • Summer Club follows Livingston School District emergency procedures and policies.
  • All staff are CPR/First Aid certified.
  • On-site emergencies follow school protocols.
  • Families will be contacted after students are secure in the event of an evacuation.
  • In severe cases, 911 will be called. Parents are responsible for all emergency medical expenses.
 
Injuries & Illness
  • Minor injuries will be discussed at pick-up and may require a written report.
  • For serious injuries, parents or emergency contacts will be called immediately.
  • Sick children must stay home. If illness occurs during program hours, parents must pick up immediately.
  • If a parent is unreachable in an emergency, a staff member will accompany the child to the ER.
 
Confidentiality & Reporting
All staff are mandatory reporters of suspected abuse/neglect. Summer Club follows all FERPA (student privacy) guidelines and the district's anti-bullying policy.
 
Supplies Provided by Parents
Each child will have a locker. Please label and provide the following:
  • Water bottle (left at Club during the week)
  • Sunscreen
  • Extra jacket or light coat
  • Towel and swimwear
  • Bicycle & Helmet
If you need help securing any of these items, please let the Club Coordinator know.
 
Meals and Snacks
  • Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided daily.
  • Menus will be shared when available.
  • Allergies and dietary restrictions are accommodated as noted in the application.
  • Notify staff of any changes in medical or dietary information.
 
Dress Code
  • Closed-toe shoes are required (parents will be contacted if needed). Sandals may be brought for Water Day.
  • Dress children appropriately for the weather and field trips.
  • Consider leaving sweatshirts, hats, and sunglasses at Club for the summer.
