Hello, LPS community! 

I Love to Read Week is here!   The outline below will give you an idea of the fun being had at the schools each day. 

 

Winans 

Dress Up Days 

Monday- Hats off to Reading (Wear your favorite hat) 

Tuesday- Snuggle up and Read (Wear pjs and bring a stuffed animal) 

Wednesday- Wacky Wednesday (Wear silly socks, mismatched clothes and crazy hair) 

Thursday- Book Character (Dress as your favorite book character) 

Friday- Books and Reading Bring Us Together (Wear your grade level color: 2YK-green, Kinder- Blue, 1st Grade- Purple, 2nd Grade- Black) 

 

Events 

Monday- Read-a-Thon Fundraiser All Week and Next 

Tuesday- Family Night 

Wednesday- 

Thursday Early Literacy Program Q & A 

Friday-  Reading Rangers: PHS students read with Winans students 

 

East Side

Wednesday- MT Author Bruce Smith Presentations, Poetry in the Classroom

Friday- Poetry in the Classroom, “I Love to Read” treat making

Book Bingo- Family activity for nightly reading 

Monday, February 26th - Book Snack Day: Join us for a delightful book snack pairing!  

K-2nd grade One Fish, Two Fish with Goldfish Crackers. 3rd -5th grade Teacher’s choice.   

 

Tuesday, February 27th - Flashlight Reading Adventure Grab a flashlight and get ready for an enchanting reading adventure. Children will have the opportunity to explore the magic of reading in a unique and cozy setting.  

 

Wednesday, February 28th - Buddy Reading Day: Reading is even more enjoyable when shared with a friend. Children will pair up for buddy reading (Bigs [3-5] will pair with a Little[K-2]), promoting collaboration and a shared love for stories.  

 

Thursday, February 29th - Caregiver Reading Night (5:00 to 5:30 PM): We invite caregivers to join us in celebrating the joy of reading. Take this opportunity to come into a Links classroom, read to your child, and create a special bookmark together. It's a wonderful chance to connect through stories.
